Motherhood is not easy. Training children to be the best that they can be does not come with a manual; training special need children do not come with patience either. But understanding our divine nature as mothers should encourage us or me to train a child uprightly before the Lord; Its not about the material things in life that we should be teaching our children how to be a "better person" We can all be better people if we know what our purpose in life is; Training our children to be better people will require us to know what our purpose in life is.
So what is it? We are here to be tested and to learn, grow, and experience life so that we can return to our Father who is Heaven. Part of our purpose as women in this dispensation is to multiply and replenish the earth, be fruitful and bear witness that there is a God and that we are created in his own image. Our purpose is to also raise a family and teach them the ways of the Lord by service, providing compassion to the sick and the needy, to be of service to our family and friends, our community. And also be doing what is right and doing our best to live righteously.
Will it be easy? No it will not. But the Lord has provided resources for us to make sure we are doing the right thing. It is a work in progress; The scripture found in Provers 22:6 remind us "Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is hold he shall not department from it" The lessons of faith, hope and charity are all things we should train our children to live by. We, ourselves need to live by these characteristics so that our children can see our good examples in being the best that we can be so that they too will be able to follow.
It's a new day and a new week. Let's do our best to be our best.

My Eat, Pray, Love & Oprah
You know I can always count on the Oprah show for inspiration when I've run out of my own inspiration.
After Sunday and Monday events at home it's nice to see special people that are keep'in it real as well as they can. Of course when you have money you can keep it real for as long as you like for and for whatever you want.
The show was about a movie that will be showing sometime in August. The movie "Eat, Pray, Love" is about a woman's journey in life; And I have to say that I have my own "Eat, Pray, Love" moment that maybe sometimes I take for granted or maybe I don't realize that the simple phrase is a simple moment in my own time and I either choose not to see it or choose not to realize it because of the "hussle and bustle" in my life.
My eat - is a good "Bar-B-Que" in the front yard as the sun goes down with my family and a few friends chill'in under the tent.
My pray - is the time I think to myself of what I'm grateful for and the things I need help with in my life. My pray has always beenw ith my children in hopes that they understand that their Heavenly Father is always their for them if they remember to acknowledge him and pray to him for thanks and almost always for help wherever they may be.
And finally my love - is the joy I get from loving my husband, my childern, the work I do, loving the gospel of Jesus Christ and know the plan of salvation. Today is just another day - and these are just simple things that I can be truly grateful for when I think about "Eat, Pray, and Love"

Just Another Regular Day

It's Monday may 24th and the early morning began with another regular day ritual; May 24th morning began at 12:06am with Kaluna not saying a word about vomiting on the bedroom floor at 10:00 pm the night before; So, mother dearest and son staying up till 2:30am in the morning cleaning up the mess; How Fun!? Which eventually led to truly cleaning up the room so that the environment was clean and bacteria free so my son, Kaluna, can sleep with ease;
Then just before closing my eyes, Kapua just happened to vomit herself from just coughing; she coughed up her food and continued to heave herself so that the food would be on the bed, in her hair, her ear and the back of her shirt. So, of course, mother dearest again with only 30 minutes of rest, gets up to get the warm water running and arrange Kapua in a way to wash her hair in the bed and remove the caked food.
The work led to shampooing and cream rinsing her beautiful full black hair and cleaning out the white milk caked particles, letting it fall into a pool of soapy warm to hot water; removing her shirt and wiping the back of her body; I woke up her father to help me position her so that she would be wiped down easily and placed on another bed so that we could blow dry her hair allowing her to feel good and preventing her from catching a cold.
By the time I was done, it was already 4:30, 4:45 am in the morning; Taking off her bed sheets and bed pads and dirty clothing; it was time to replace the bed sheets and return her thin, yet heavy body back to her original positions and allow her to sleep with comfort;
It's not an everyday ritual; But it is sometimes a monthly ritual; I always think to myself, how do I manage such events with the children. This kind of behavior truly happens to little babies sometimes but not teenagers or pre-teens?
But the reality is Kapua's condition requires rituals of this magnitude almost always; Can it be prevented? Maybe yes, if she could talk? But not likely; So, what is a mother to do? Well, the key is to keep a cool head. When anxiety rises, make the effort to sing a happy tune. The tune doesn't always come to my mind; But tears to my eyes in seeking words of wisdom or even comfort is my way of getting over the vomiting, getting over the early morning cleaning, and trying to just get a grip of it all; because there will be another day this will all happen again, when "I'll never know" - but it will happen again!

A New Day a New Perspective
I decided that this blog would be for me; And my perpective about my life and how it is going; There is no doubt in my mind that I have much to be grateful for. In 5 years I will hit half a century; and if the Lord will see it fit for me to live as long as my daughters Kapua and Moani then so be it.
But until then, so much of my life have I enjoyed. The sorrows, the pain, the laughter, the rain, the spiritual growth and the temporal truth. The realities of humanity and all that come with living my life to the fullest and to accomplish the dreams that were just only dreams and now have been true reality.
So, friends who read my somewhat life in a nut shell, enjoy the the ride for it truly is a sensational yet simple reality of my life.
